Joseph Anane - Programme Manager

Joseph has been our Programme Manager since January 2010. Born in Kumasi, which is in the Ashanti region of Ghana, Joe is one of nine children.  He is also a graduate in Political Sciences, from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Before joining Work the World, Joe has spent a great deal of time working in the tourist industry, which included time spent working alongside students in the US.  His meal of choice is banku & okra stew. In his spare time Joe enjoys listening to music, reading abstracts and watching basketball.

Alhassan Abdul-Salam - Housekeeper

Alhassan Abdul-Salam - Housekeeper

Alhassan is our ever-busy housekeeper for the Work the World house in Takoradi, where he is in charge of cleaning and general house maintenance.  He grew up in the Upper East Region of Ghana and is now married to Barbara and has 2 children, Nana Sekyerewa and Abraham.  In his spare time Alhassan enjoys playing football, cycling and athletics.  His preferred meal is yam and palava sauce.

Ophelia Osei - Caterer

Ophelia Osei - Caterer

Ever-smiling Ophelia lives near the Work the World house, with her husband, a local banker.  She holds a Higher National Diploma in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management.

Before joining Work the World in 2007, Ophelia worked as a cook at Ray Bow Hotel, Sanaa Lodge Hotel, Sasakawa Lodge, Central Regional Hospital and the Ghana Standards Board.  She can cook a multitude of international dishes, but is keen for students to try out some Ghanaian delicacies as well.

Ezekiel Ankutsitsia - Programme Representative

Ezekial Ankutsitsia - Programme Representative

Ezekiel is our newest member of the Ghana staff team. Originally from the Volta region in Eastern Ghana, he has now been based in Takoradi for a number of years. He has an HND in tourism and has worked with the Ghana Tourist Board and Ghana Tourist Development in a range of roles. Ezekiel completes the airport pick-ups and orientations for students on their arrival into Ghana, and can be found in the house giving advice and support to students during their stay.

Outside of work he enjoys reading, traveling and watching movies.
