Although dental treatment is free in Sri Lanka, poor infrastructure and travelling costs prevent many people from getting checkups until they are in some kind of pain.

Government hospital - From our base in Kandy we work with one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country. On a placement here, you are likely to come across more advanced cases of dental disease, cleft palates extractions, infections, maxillo facial surgery, orthodontics and oral cancer. For those that are proactive, there is also scope to assist in minor and extensive major surgeries.
