Midwifery elective placements in Sri Lanka, South Asia

In Sri Lanka many babies are born with medical problems, largely because of the lack of antenatal screening and ultrasound scanning. Kandy is the main centre for midwifery in the area.

Government hospital - From our base in Kandy we work with two of the largest referral teaching hospitals in the hill country. There are large Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Neonatal and Antenatal wards as well as many deliveries.
