Through partnering with a number of hospitals and clinics in the Takoradi region, we can offer a truly unique and authentic experience of Ghanaian healthcare. While on a nursing elective placement, you can expect to see a range of unusual ailments like typhoid psychosis, malaria and TB. I worked on the A&E department and also worked occasionally in the evenings on the maternity and neonatal ward. These two weeks gave me the once in a life time experience to become hands on in areas of work unfamiliar and usually off-limits to me.Read more
